The DuPont Mansion, located in Old Louisville, is a beautiful example of Victorian Era Italianate-Renaissance Revival architecture. Constructed around 1879 by the DuPont brothers, Alfred Victor and Biederman, who were prominent figures in Louisville's business community, the mansion reflects the wealth and growth of the city during that period.
The DuPonts originally came to Louisville in 1854 and established A.V. DuPont and Company, which dealt in paper and gunpowder. Over time, they expanded their business interests and became influential citizens.
In 1999, the mansion underwent significant renovations to restore its historic charm. The home was opened as a bed and breakfast in 2001, and it has since become a cherished part of the Old Louisville Historical District.
If you ever get a chance to visit, you'll find it rich in history and elegance, with features like ornate carved Italian marble fireplaces, hardwood floors, and formal gardens. It's a wonderful place to experience a piece of Louisville's past.

Our visit to the Dupont Mansion B&B was fantastic! We really enjoyed our room which was and spacious and clean. The owners were very nice and attentive to our needs. They coordinated a great bourbon trail experience with transportation and a wonderful host driver. The breakfast was always fantastic and presented very well!!! We definitely recommend this place!
Amazing property, owners are local residents focused on the preservation of the history and charm of the neighborhood. Room was spotless and well appointed, breakfast was a five-star experience. Thomas and Viji are excellent hosts. Will stay here again next time we are in town. Rooms: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5
Beautiful historic property Iocated in Historic Louisville. Beautifully renovated rooms, everything you want available. Access to a small kitchen to make coffee/ tea and a large fridge for water. Home made cookies available daily which were delicious. Innkeeper was hugely welcoming, a wealth of knowledge about where to visit and created sumptuous breakfasts for us every morning, accommodating our earlier start on our final day. We used Uber to travel around for our short stay which was less costly than renting a car.
A pure taste of Southern hospitality from host Thomas & innkeeper at the Dupont Mansion. They were both friendly & knowledgeable about the mansion & the Louisville area. The rooms were very clean & comfortable. There was plenty of space for guests to spread out, both inside & out on the lovely patio. The breakfast was amazing, unfortunately I couldn't eat all of it! Much better (& more reasonable) than staying at a local hotel. I will go back for a longer stay. Rooms: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5
My wife wanted to stay here for our visit to Louisville on our anniversary but I just wanted to go to a nice hotel. I am so glad I listened to her!! For the same price or less than a "decent" hotel, we were treated to the beautiful decor of this magnificent old mansion, the hospitality of the most awesome staff and breakfast fit for royalty. If you're staying in Louisville, don't even think about going to a hotel...you need to stay here. Rooms: 5/5Service: 5/5Location: 4/5
Very nice heritage building with loads of exquisite millwork high ceilings etc. Close to Central Park. Beautiful heritage building homes in the neighborhood. Great breakfast and wonderful, accommodating hosts. 15 minutes to the airport.
We loved the Victorian feel of the Mansion and all the character that had been brought back to life during the renovation. It was clean, the bed was super comfortable, shower was great with good water pressure. Breakfast was above and beyond what we expected and tasted wonderful. The owners were very polite and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
This place was beautiful… all the way down to the antique silver flatware. Service was excellent, the rooms were comfortable and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend staying here. Rooms: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Location: 5/5
